Many people already know that I just got married this summer (2007). In my free time I love to hang out with my husband, exercise, play instruments and relax. I don’t get very much time to relax. Besides teaching a full week, I also teach private lessons 2 days a week after school and I’m the woodwind coach with the Vintage High School Band.

I strive to share with my students my love and appreciation for music. I want them to acquire the knowledge they need to have an educated opinion about new and different styles of music that they come across in their lives.
Developing a positive relationship with my students, one where my students trust me and know that I am a good listener, is very important to me. My time at River during the day is short, but very valuable to me. In order to develop a relationship with my students I ask them about their lives. We’ve developed a tradition of talking about our weekends every Monday morning. Students have the choice to speak or pass. I also share my life with them. By the end of the year we’ve learned things about each other that are outside the realm of band, which is the goal.
